Yllytyshullu in english, translation help needed

Sometimes I can be a little yllytyshullu. When Adam Curry started talking about LibriVox and how he is planning to submit something there, I immediately knew I wanted to do that, too.

It coinsided with a remark from a collegue recently during a lunch discussion. We were talking about the presidential elections coming up, and the candidates. I said something about the style how one candidate, Sauli Niinistö, writes. "Oh have you read his book", this colleague asked. "No, I read his blog", I answered.

"You should read more books!" she exclaimed.

A remark, which, I, thinking of myself as a keen reader of books as it is, took a little to heart.

So when I heard Adam Curry talking about the LibriVox concept I felt like: "Now that's what I call reading a book."

And so I did. And finished the reading yesterday.

Laughing at myself and this episode a little, I tried to find words to describe what had happened. In finnish, I can say I feel perhaps a little yllytyshullu for having done that.

I like to think I'm not gullible or easily led, but those are the translations offered to by the online dictionary that I use (no link as it is for my ISP's customers exclusively).

The concept of yllytyshullu, I think, is more. A person who is yllytyshullu, as I see it, is someone who can be instantly inspired into doing something, often a little crazy, too. Someone who gets a spark and then pushes through no matter what. Has a lot of sisu, (i think that is usually translated into guts), and uses that to do what she wants to achieve.

The translations "easily led" or "gullible" lack the the sisu/guts - effect and the jackass - kind of spirit of totally throwing oneself into a project.

How would you translate yllytyshullu into different languages?

Of course it could be that I have wrong finnish word to start with. Is there already a word for a person who does what I described above?
