One, two, tree

OK here goes, I cannot resist any longer. From now on there will appear, at irregular intervals, some posts in english in my Thousand words blog. The first one is about the Xmastrees -group I just created in Flickr. Our family has this tradition of inspecting as many Xmas trees as possible while visiting relatives and friends during the holidays. I thought it might be amusing to reach further than anyone's visiting capabilities allow (except Santa's of course, the bugger gets to see everyones's threes)!

This year at my parents' house in Hattula, in the region of Häme, Finland, there's a furry, handsome spruce for a christmas tree, joulukuusi. The simple decoration this year consists of (plastic) apples, cones, little elf figures playing wooden instruments, some gold-coloured strings for a little glitter and a string of electric candles.

This year we added a little drama: along the trunk there climbs a hungry bear chasing the elves up. Will the little elves reach the safety of the top star or perish in the paws of the cruel bear?

So What's your Xmas tree like? Is it about the same every year or do you change styles a lot? Is there a story behind the chosen decorations?
